About the 36th brigade
The 36th separate marine infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was formed in 2015 as a result of the reformation of the 36th separate coastal defense brigade. The brigade included the 1st and 501st separate battalions of marines.
Fighters of the 36th separate brigade of marines participate in the defense of Mariupol from Russian invaders. On April 12, 2022, being surrounded, the soldiers were able to break through to their comrades from the "Azov" regiment and successfully regrouped, strengthening the "Azovstal" garrison.
