Pavlo Kashchuk posted a video of the work of Ukrainian soldiers on Facebook.
The special forces used a light mortar to neutralize a sniper couple trying to work for the Ukrainian military. In the south of Ukraine, the Russians worked out the calculation of a 60-mm mortar.
“SSO fighters in the South of Ukraine show that an ordinary 60-mm mortar in skilled hands is a sniper weapon. The accuracy of the shot from the first shot is simply amazing! ” - Pavlo Kashchuk wrote in his message.
The position of Russian snipers was discovered by Ukrainian fighters, and then they were eliminated with accurate shots. In total, three mortar mines, which piled up next to the enemy, were enough to neutralize the occupiers.
Judging by the video, a reconnaissance drone helped the mortars to adjust the fire, which recorded the results of the work of Ukrainian special forces.
To neutralize the snipers, the fighters of the 73rd Center of the Special Operations Forces used a light mortar KBA-118 of domestic production.
It should be reminded that in 2017 Ukrainian 60-mm mortars entered the service of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The KBA-118 mortar was developed by the Ukrainian State Enterprise Artillery Armament Design Bureau. It was presented for the first time at the Kyiv exhibition "Weapons and Security-2013".
Light mortar is designed to destroy enemy manpower and equipment located in shelters or trenches. It can also be used to cover fire on reconnaissance groups operating in the enemy's rear.
It has a range of 1.5 kilometers and a combat rate of up to 20 shots per minute. KBA-118 is in service with various Ukrainian special forces.
For reference: Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (SSO of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) is a separate branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which includes special units and units of information and psychological special operations, staffed by specially trained specialists with special capabilities in intelligence.
