Footage of combat work was published by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This video confirms that Ukraine uses Soviet-made fighter jets to fire AGM-88 HARM missiles designed to target radars.
"The Ukrainian pilot shot and edited a video of combat operations. Ivan dedicates this video to his fallen brother Yevhen Lysenko, who heroically died in an aerial battle with the Russian invaders on March 9," the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
An AGM-88 missile with a conical shape of the nose, under the wing of the MiG-29, next to the R-73 air-to-air missile, got into the frame. Later, the video shows the launch of these missiles from the fighter.
Earlier it became known that the USA adapted HARM anti-radar missiles for MiG-29 fighters.
The deputy head of the Pentagon, Colin Kahl, said that the Ukrainians have been using AGM-88 missiles with great success in recent weeks.
At the beginning of August, the first news about the defeat of Russian positions by AGM-88 HARM missiles began to appear . But at that time it was not known from which platform the Ukrainian military used American missiles.
On August 8, the US Ministry of Defense confirmed that it had provided anti-radar missiles to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
AGM-88 High-speed Anti-Radar Missile is a high-speed anti-radar missile adopted by the USA in 1983.
The missile is aimed at the high-frequency radar. HARM calculates the location of the target and is able to hit it even if the radar has been turned off. The latest modifications are designed to defeat radars with a change in operating frequencies.
HARM is intended for American combat aircraft, some European and now Soviet-made fighters, which are used by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
