The Transcarpathian brigade struck the Russian main battle tank of modern modification.

This was reported by the press service of 128 OGShBr.

Soldiers of the 128th Detached Mountain Assault Brigade destroyed a Russian modification tank of the T-90A type.

The published photos show that the tank turret separated from the hull.

Similar cases occur when Soviet-built tanks detonate ammunition.

In the vast majority of cases, the detachment of the tank turret did not immediately follow the impact of enemy ammunition, but after detonating its own ammunition.

If the tankers did not leave the fighting vehicle in time, the consequences for them were fatal. There is a huge pressure in the tank, looking for a way out.

The explosion of ammunition is sometimes so strong that often not only the tower flies away, but also fragments of metal remain from the armored vehicle itself.

The problem is the counter-sanctions of Soviet T-72s. T-90A is a deep modernization of the T-72.

In the T-72 ammunition is placed in a circle inside the tower, in military slang it is called "the devil in a snuffbox."

This shortcoming in the design of tanks indicates different approaches and priorities in the armies. In most western tanks, ammunition can be stored under the floor of the tower, protected by a heavy hull, or in the back of the tower.

Ammunition storage place in T-72, Leopard 2, M1 Abrams tanks

We will remind, the Russian T-90A tanks captured in battles are already on the armed forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
