On October 25–26, Kyiv will host the “Barrier-Free Marathon by Nova Poshta” — an event designed to bring together people of all ages and abilities. As part of the initiative, anyone can support those affected by the war by joining the “Unity Run”, a 1 km charity race that can be completed offline at VDNG or online from anywhere in the world.

The registration fee for the “Unity Run” starts at 100 UAH, and all funds will go toward supporting the UNBROKEN Rehabilitation Center, according to the event’s official website. The center provides a full cycle of free treatment, prosthetics, and rehabilitation for people injured in the war.

Beyond its charitable goal, the marathon aims to give everyone — regardless of ability — a chance to fulfill their dream of completing a marathon and to show that sport is for everyone. The key message: set your goal and take the first step.

Participants are welcome from all walks of life — experienced runners, people with disabilities or temporary health issues, pregnant women, seniors, parents with strollers, and even pet owners running with their animals, as well as others from low-mobility groups.

The event program includes not only the Unity Run but also several other distances to choose from:

  • Full marathon (42 km)

  • Half marathon (21 km)

  • 10 km and 5 km races

  • Children’s races for 500 and 100 meters

“Our running events are never just about sports and crossing finish lines. Every year, through marathons and half marathons, we draw attention to vital social issues. This year, we want to remind Ukrainians that our strength lies in unity. Regardless of age, experience, or health, we are all on the same course — no matter where we are. Knowing you are running together with thousands of Ukrainians is inspiring and proves that only together can we move forward despite everything,” said Inna Poperešniuk, co-founder of Nova Poshta.

How to Join the Online Run

Until October 24, fill out the participant form on the event’s website and make a charity contribution starting from 100 UAH.
You’ll then receive an email with your race number, which you can print and wear during your run.
On October 25–26, complete your distance and receive an electronic medal as a keepsake.

Nova Poshta has been organizing running events since 2015. The first Barrier-Free Marathon, held in September 2024, brought together 5,000 participants from 40 countries and raised over 500,000 UAH to support the UNBROKEN Rehabilitation Center.
