On the night of July 11, 2022, a colossal explosion occurred in the city of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region. Local residents published numerous videos and photos of the event on social networks.

Serhii Khlan , adviser to the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration , reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the warehouses of the racist occupiers.

The explosion occurred around 10:20 p.m., and was preceded by an air-raid alarm signal, which was turned on by the occupiers.

What was the blow and what exactly exploded - official information has not yet been made public.

Russian media put forward a version about the use of the HIMARS military system. As for the target, Russian propagandists first claimed to have fired at the hydroelectric power plant, and then put forward an implausible version of hitting a saltpetre warehouse.

Versions are spreading in the Ukrainian segment of Telegram channels that the Russians have concentrated fuel and ammunition depots in one territory at the same time.

Information is coming in about damaged nearby houses and broken windows.

On the same day, July 11, 2022, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk appealed to the residents of the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to evacuate by all possible means.

Vereshchuk emphasized that the Ukrainian military will liberate the temporarily occupied territories, and the enemy uses the local population as a human shield.
