The Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of the city of Balakliya, Izyumsky district, Kharkiv region.

The President of Ukraine released a video in which the military reports on the execution of the order.

The de-occupation of Balakleya was announced by a fighter of the Kraken special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The video was recorded at 4 p.m. on September 8.

A video of the meeting of the Ukrainian military with the residents of the de-occupied Balakliya was also published. People expressed their gratitude to the soldiers of the Defense Forces for the liberation of the city, which people had been waiting for for half a year.

The Russian military captured Balakliya on March 4, 2022. The mayor of Balakleya betrayed Ukraine and went over to the side of the infidels. However, he eventually fled to the Russian Federation with his family.
