Exclusive from the SSO: a special operation on Snake Island

On the night of July 7, combat swimmers of the Sea Center of the SpP named after Koshov Ataman Antin Holovatoy of the SSO of Ukraine approached Snake Island on underwater carriers. With the help of special equipment, they surveyed the coastal zone for the presence of anti-submarine and anti-landing mines. After establishing a passage for the boats of the main group, the Ukrainian military gave a signal to continue the operation.

Engineers were the first to descend on the island, clearing the passage from mine barriers and traps for the rest of the group.

After reaching the plateau of the island, the group began to perform tasks: surveying the area, recording and collecting data on the enemy's equipment, weapons and material and technical means of the enemy, brought by him to Snake Island.

During the task, the combined group installed Ukrainian flags in different parts of the island. Also, the flag of the Special Purpose Center of the SSO of Ukraine flew over Snake Island.

At the time when our soldiers were performing their tasks, Russian vessels began maneuvering in the direction of Snake Island. Having completed the task, the assembled group left the island. After that, the Russians launched a missile attack on Snake Island, hitting the pier. A group of Ukrainian soldiers returned to the base unscathed.

The planning and management of the operation was carried out by the command of a separate naval center for special purposes. The soldiers of this center made up the main part of the consolidated group. Also, engineers of a separate motorized infantry brigade, fighters of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense and a separate detachment of the Navy of Ukraine were also involved in the operation.
