Aviation of the occupation forces of the Russian Federation lost its Su-25 attack aircraft in the Kharkov region.

Enemy planes tried to attack the Ukrainian military.

To neutralize Russian attack aircraft flying at low altitudes, the Defense Forces used man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS).

The military released a video of the defeat of at least one Russian Su-25. The moment when an anti-aircraft missile catches up with the plane and knocks it out got into the frame.

Then, information appeared in Russian propaganda publics and social networks that Ukrainian defenders shot down a Su-25SM attack aircraft in the Izyum district of the Kharkiv region.

The single-seat armored subsonic attack aircraft Su-25 is designed for direct support of ground forces over the battlefield day and night with visual visibility of the target, as well as the destruction of objects with given coordinates around the clock in any weather conditions.

Su-25 is a highly protected combat aircraft. Its survivability systems account for 7.2% of the usual takeoff weight, or 1050 kg. The vital systems of an attack aircraft are duplicated and shielded.

Particular attention is paid to the protection of critical components and elements - the cockpit and fuel system.
