Anti-aircraft defense is a set of multi-faceted organizational measures and combat actions aimed at repelling an enemy attack from the air, covering groups of one's own ground forces or important objects in the rear. The main goal of the air defense units is to achieve control over the airspace.

At the same time, NATO defines air defense as "all measures aimed at deflecting or reducing the effectiveness of an enemy air strike...". Air defense can be carried out both by air defense troops of ground units and aviation, and, for example, by air defense units of the navy.

We will remind you that the morning shelling of the Dnipro is not the first in recent days. In particular, on Tuesday, June 28, the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down four rockets fired by the enemy at the city.
