For the first time since the beginning of April, the Russian A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft and fighter jets flew over the territory of Belarus.

This was reported by the monitoring group "Belarusian Gayun".

It is noted that the DRLV A-50 aircraft operated throughout the night from 10:50 p.m. on July 10 to 5:10 a.m. on July 11.

The A-50 type aircraft is designed to detect, track and determine the state ownership of air, land and sea targets, issue information about them to the command posts of automated control systems, guide fighters to air targets and front-line aircraft to land and sea targets.

" On July 10, at 22:50, a DRLV A-50 of the PKS of the Russian Federation with the registration number RF-94268 took off from the military airfield in Machulyshchy... All night, the A-50 flew in circles from Baranovichi to Slutsk, at the same time changing altitudes from 9,150 m to 9,700 m m ," the report says.

The plane was in the sky for 6 hours and 20 minutes and landed in Machulyshchy at 5:10.

Also, the monitoring group recorded the work of fighter jets, which worked in shifts with the DRLV at an altitude of 7,000 m to 8,000 m.

Chronology of take-offs, landings and work of fighters:

  • 10:45 p.m. takeoff of fighter jet No. 1 from the military airfield in Baranovichi;
  • 23:10 start of operation of fighter #1 with A-50;
  • 0:56 end of work;
  • 0:40 takeoff of fighter #2;
  • 1:03 a.m. start of operation of fighter #2 with A-50;

The monitoring group emphasizes that during the work, the fighter pilots discussed with the DRLV the visibility of targets for strikes on the territory of Ukraine.

At the same time, already after the long-range radar detection aircraft had finished, another fighter jet took off from the airfield in Baranovichi at 5:40 a.m. He returned at 6:30.

It is assumed that such work of fighters with DRLV to identify probable targets may become a new daily practice.
