Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, who recently attended the exercise, said: “This ambitious new training program is the next step in the UK's support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their fight against Russian aggression. Using the world-class experience of the British military, we will help Ukraine rebuild its forces and scale up its resistance, while it protects its own sovereignty and the right to choose its own future.”
The United Kingdom has a long history of supporting Ukrainian military personnel as part of Operation ORBITAL, during which 22,000 Ukrainians were trained from 2015 to 2022. The new program will build on this success and demonstrate the UK's continued leadership in responding to Ukraine's military requirements as the war evolves.
