Ukraine Wins First Medal at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships: Silver in Artistic Swimming

Performance of the Ukrainian Team. The Ukrainian national team has secured its first medal in artistic swimming at the World Aquatics Championships. The Ukrainian artistic swimmers earned a silver medal in the team's acrobatic program.

The World Championships in Doha, Qatar, kicked off on Friday, February 2. This event is the final stage of the qualification for the 2024 Olympics, with Ukraine vying for a license in the free team category.

In the acrobatic program qualification, the Ukrainian team scored 243.2134 points and advanced to the final of the discipline from second place. Ultimately, they managed to secure the silver medal at the 2024 World Championships.

How the Ukrainian Team Won Silver at the 2024 World Championships in Artistic Swimming The Ukrainian team was represented by eight athletes in the acrobatic program:

In the final, the Ukrainians performed second to last and executed a program with the third-highest difficulty score — 23.8500. China and the USA chose higher difficulty scores — 23.9500 and 24.6000 points, respectively. For their performance, the "blue and yellow" received 243.3167 points – a result sufficient for second place and Ukraine's first medal in artistic swimming at the 2024 World Championships. The team from China won the event with 244.1767 points, followed by the USA in third place. 2024 World Championships in Artistic Swimming.

At the previous world championship, the Ukrainian team finished in seventh place. Ukraine continues its streak of medals in artistic swimming at the World Aquatics Championships. Since 2013, the "blue and yellow" have been winning medals at world championships, with their best performance in 2021 — two gold and five silver medals. 

Ukraine's third overall medal at the World Championships in acrobatics/highlight. The Ukrainian team won gold in the highlight at the 2019 and 2022 tournaments.
