In the evening of May 9, there was information about the death of former MP and ex-head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations David Zhvania. The news of Zhvania's death at 22:04 was published by the Telegram-channel "Ukraine Above All!".
It is reported that Zhvania allegedly died during the artillery shelling near the Russian checkpoint near the village of Novopokrovka, Pologi district, Zaporizhia region.
According to the authors of this channel, David Zhvania had a passport of a Russian citizen and was allegedly an unofficial representative of the local company Rosatom, engaged in the supply of fuel elements to Ukrainian nuclear power plants. As you know, Energoatom reported on March 11 that Ukraine completely refuses to purchase Russian nuclear fuel.
With reference to this Telegram channel, the information about Zhvania's death was spread by the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko, then this information was picked up and published by the Ukrainian media.
According to ex-People's Deputy Igor Mosiychuk, his sources in law enforcement confirm Zhvania's death. There is information that FSB officers were waiting for him in the temporarily occupied territory.
"Zhvania was trying to leave the territory controlled by Ukraine. He was met in the temporarily occupied territory by FSB officers, taken to Moscow and then back to Ukraine. He is said to have been one of the key representatives of our pseudo-elites who want peace with the Kremlin in exchange for national interests. to the right to form a puppet pro-Putin government. This is both a betrayal and an attempted coup in the interests of Moscow, "Mosiychuk said.
He also added that there are questions in this story:
- Was the artillery fire on the square where Zhvania was moving accidental?
- When, how and in what form will his body be passed on to relatives and friends?
- Do our special services know the names of Zhvania's allies?
Political scientist Viktor Ukolov, emphasizing that David Zhvania has a Russian passport, recalled the poisoning of Viktor Yushchenko during the 2004 election campaign. Zhvania was present at the same dinner after which the opposition presidential candidate was diagnosed with toxins.
In comments to Ukolov's post, reporters suggested that Zhvania's death was a staging, as no one had seen the body. The ex-MP himself can change the documents and live in peace in Europe.
As you know, David Zhvania was a participant in the Orange Revolution, and a few years ago voted for the ratification of the so-called Kharkiv agreements to extend the term of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, Ukraine.
Zhvania began his political career in 2002, when he became a People's Deputy from the opposition Our Ukraine bloc. In 2005, he co-founded the Our Ukraine political party. After leaving the parliament of the 5th convocation on the lists of "OU", he left the party. In the next convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, Zhvania was included in the list of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc. He was elected to the parliament of the 7th convocation as a non-partisan self-nominated candidate, and in December 2012 he joined the Party of Regions faction. Already on November 30, 2013, he left the faction, becoming non-partisan.
