26-year-old Russian soldier Alexei Bakulev , who in 2017 as part of the Russian national team became the world champion in tank biathlon, and in 2019 won the Army Cup, was eliminated in Ukraine.

Bakulev was born in the village of the Altai Republic. In 2014, he was drafted into the army, served in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and remained on a contract basis as a senior sergeant.

"During the fighting to repel the enemy's counterattack, being part of the crew of the T-72 tank and covering the retreat of their units, received a shrapnel wound, incompatible with life," - said in the obituary of one of Russia's propaganda resources.

In an interview, Bakulev admitted that he was happy to go on a "special operation" to Ukraine.

"I want, to be honest, in a real battle. Try what it is. I hope my family will understand this desire if the time comes," - said Alex.

It should be noted that the death of the titled occupier was confirmed in the Telegram channel by the officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoliy Stirlitz Stefan.

It will be recalled that this is not the first case of losses of Russian world champions in tank biathlon in Ukraine.

On May 21, Serhiy Bronnikov was liquidated in our country . The 30-year-old native of Borza, Transbaikalia, served in the 36th Separate Guards Lozova Red Banner Motorized Rifle Brigade.

Bato Bakanov, a Russian champion in tank biathlon, said goodbye to this in Buryatia. However, this title did not help the occupier to survive the attack on Ukraine.

On March 14, 2022, a 25-year-old Buryat burned down in his own tank after a "hot" greeting from the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk region.
