A school for children of migrants was launched at a factory in Transcarpathia in a week. For this, one of the workshops of the ŠKODA Eurocar plant was reequipped.

Oleg Popov, founder and director at MIDGARD, an educational territory, spoke about this .

“This story began with a call from a friend of mine. By that time, she had already been with her daughter for almost a month in a camp for temporarily displaced persons, under which the Open Mind Fund charity fund (the founder of the Viktoria Boiaryna fund) converted one of the workshops of the ŠKODA Eurocar plant. Comfortable rooms were made from the usual office rooms, and a real kitchen with all necessary household appliances was made from the dining room," said Oleg Popov.

Since the beginning of the war, more than 200 people have found their temporary shelter in the center, 140 live permanently, 30 of them are children.

"It is clear that at first everyone was just coming to their senses, and a week ago, when it came to the realization that the children had already missed almost a month of training and it was not known what the future of the educational process would be for them, they asked me about the possibility of launching an online training camp for children at MIDGARD - educational territory. Of course, we did not even doubt, but simply quickly agreed on organizational work. In a few days, we developed a curriculum for three different ages and brought all the necessary equipment - in the form of interactive panels, laptops and tablets for all children. In the near future For the time being, we plan to provide an opportunity to study under this program to all interested children online or who find it convenient to come to lessons offline," Popov also shared his plans.

According to Valeria Gareeva, a volunteer of the foundation, who works with younger migrants in the camp, with the beginning of their studies at MIDGARD, children are looking forward to the lessons, because for most of them it is a qualitatively completely different and interesting learning process that teachers instill in them.

"The school has been open for a week already. The children are in a hurry to go to class, and we don't need a better grade. You can't fool them! We are holding the educational front!" Popov summed up.
