On the night of September 18, a Russian drone completely destroyed the central logistics hub of PRACTIK. The warehouse, where products were stored and shipments were processed, was reduced to ruins. Preliminary losses exceed 15 million UAH, with a risk of additional VAT charges.

Despite the destruction, the company did not lose what matters most – faith in the team and love for their clients’ pets. PRACTIK’s founder Ivan, together with his team, set an ambitious goal: to restore logistics and shipments within 100 hours.

“We challenged ourselves to recover as fast as possible. Within this time, we organized operations with the remaining stock, connected production in Dnipro, and launched the first shipments just 24 hours after the strike. Today, we’ve nearly restored the full product range and even exceeded our initial recovery targets,” commented Ivan, CEO of PRACTIK.

Team Reactions and Timeline

Inna, COO

“We got a siren alert at 3:40 a.m. Just minutes later, we realized something serious was happening. The guards arrived within five minutes, and the scale of destruction was shocking. We immediately switched to non-stop work: 19 hours of continuous process control, resource allocation, IT management, and logistics recovery. Thanks to quick coordination, we started shipping 5- and 10-kg packs the very next day,” said Inna.

Tanya, CMO

“The September 18 attack changed everything. We froze long-term marketing plans and switched to crisis mode. The main lesson: honest and transparent communication with clients is critical. We informed them about recovery progress, Nova Poshta fulfillment, the team’s condition, and the losses. Clients responded with support, inspiring us to move forward,” Tanya explained.

Daria, Head of Packaging

“My task was to ensure uninterrupted deliveries. I audited the stock, set priorities for urgent orders, and coordinated logistics with Dnipro production. We broke down the packaging process step by step to restart shipments quickly. IT specialists tracked inventory and shipments. The team worked 100%, and PRACTIK pet food was back on the road,” said Daria.

Yulia, HR & Head of ‘Dog and Coffee’ Space

“I knew I had to keep morale high. We set up a space for clients to get urgent orders without panic. We prioritized the most popular diets for shipment. The client support was incredible – some came just to say ‘we’re with you.’ This gave us strength and confirmed we were on the right path,” Yulia shared.

Business Recovery Timeline

24 Hours After the Strike
First shipments of essential 5- and 10-kg packs were sent out. These included diets with fresh meats and superfoods – critical for clients’ pets. Logistics and stock tracking were set up simultaneously.

48–72 Hours
Fulfillment processes were reestablished with Nova Poshta, enabling:

  • fast, efficient order processing;

  • packaging of small online and retail orders;

  • optimized shipping routes and real-time inventory tracking.

84 Hours
Almost the full product range was restored:

  • diets with salmon, turkey, lamb, and duck;

  • superfood-enhanced formulas;

  • small pack sizes for convenience.

This meant orders could again be fulfilled normally, without disruption.

Current Operations

  • Daily shipments: 400–500 orders processed automatically with fulfillment service.

  • IT & CRM integration: real-time stock tracking, logistics monitoring, and error reduction.

  • Client communication: transparent updates on shipments, availability, and team progress built trust and kept motivation high.

“We are still fully optimizing logistics and internal processes, but your pets will not go without PRACTIK. This experience proved that Ukrainian business can survive and grow stronger even under critical conditions,” Ivan concluded.
